History :
McIntosh Water and FPA is a non-profit organization that has provided water utility services to the McIntosh, Alabama community since its founding in 1966. McIntosh Water currently serves approximately 1,040 customers and growing. We have two wells serving the customers within our service area.
McIntosh Water currently has three board members serving its water utility board who hold meetings once per month.
WATER BILLS ARE MAILED ON THE 1st OF EACH MONTH AND ARE DUE UPON RECEIPT. A 10% LATE FEE IS ADDED ON THE 16th AND CUT OFF IS ON THE 16th. FAILURE TO RECEIVE YOUR BILL FROM THE POST OFFICE DOES NOT RELIEVE YOU OF YOUR PAYMENT OBLIGATION.
Water System :
The system consists of 2 wells, 2 groundwater treatment plants, 2 water storage tanks, 57 miles of mains, 33 3-way Fire Hydrants, 40 Valves, and serving 1,040 customers.
The 2 wells range in production from 300 gallons per minute to 500 gallons per minute. They each have a well depth of 800 feet.
Water from the wells are treated at the treatment plants with treatment consisting of filtration, disinfection (Chlorine), and Corrosion Control (Zinc Ortho Phosphate).
The 2 water storage tanks have a combined capacity of 450,000 gallons.
